Miguel Rios has dedicated his life to the study of martial arts, particularly karate. His desire to continue learning has led him to seek instruction from some of the greatest karate practitioners of our time, but it is his pursuit of karate's true essence that keeps him in the dojo. In 2020, Sensei Miguel was appointed Mid-Atlantic Regional Branch Chief for the Kyokushin Budo Karate Organization -- Kyokushin Kenbukai.

When he's not teaching karate, Sensei Miguel can be found practicing Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, playing classical guitar, or leading his crew as a captain with the Jersey City Fire Department.

In August 2023, while training in Japan, Sensei was officially awarded the title Shihan (master instructor) by Kaicho Kaneko Masahiro and Saiko Shihan Fujiwara Kenji of the Kyokushin Budo Karate Organization -- Kyokushin Kenbukai.
